Gourd Shaped Terracotta Figure: Buro
From the Bura tribe of Niger. In most African cultures, pottery is made by women. Represented to us as being over 100 years old but we make no representation of age. Bura pottery is most commonly associated with funereal urns but this piece most likely was used in a shrine. It's believed that the points are a form of protection.
Approx. 18" High by 10" Wide and quite heavy.
